The portions are served generously, making it easy to share and enjoy the robust flavors together. Furthermore, Jacob K. raves about the perfection of the chicken kebab platter, emphasizing the moist and juicy texture that sets it apart from typical offerings.
Ravagh’s starters are just as enticing: from creamy babaganoosh to rich kashke bademjan, each dish is crafted with a deep respect for Persian culinary traditions. “ Great place with good food and nice atmosphere. Went here for lunch with my boyfriend. Portions are huge. So, for appetiser, we shared the Mediterranean Chopped Lunch Salad--fresh and flavorful. For the main dish, I had the Bronzini Lunch, and my boyfriend got the Sultani Kabob. Everything comes with fragrant rice and perfectly grilled vegetables. The fish was delicious, and the meat was tender and juicy. Even the complimentary bread and dips were great. Had some nice wine as well. Service was wonderful. Ravagh is a must-try! ”
“ We ordered from Ravagh for delivery and this location delivered to us on the upper east side! It arrived exactly at the time on the website. I was happy that the food arrived perfectly timed. We ordered the babaganoosh, barg kabob (1 skewer of sirlion), and Koobideh (2 skewers of ground beef) for delivery. Both main dishes came with a large portion of their rice, burned tomatoes and burned onions. We also ate it with the babaganoosh and chutney which were delicious! Overall, we loved the meats and the babaganoosh. The rice portion was huge and we had rice leftovers for days! And delivery came on time as predicted on their restaurant ordering service platform. ”
“ Love love love. Can't speak to their whole menu but consistently get their chicken kebab platter and Kashke Bademjan and it's perfect. Chicken is moist and juicy and perfectly seasoned. So often kebab is dry. This is perfect. Their eggplant dip is heaven, you must get it! Have tried a bunch of other stuff and it's all good. As reliable as Persian cuisine comes. Enjoy ”
“ We came here for dinner with a group, but make sure to plan for a reservation since there's not a lot of seating inside. The interior is cute and cozy, perfect for a feast! The service was quick, and they offered great suggestions. For appetizers, we had the hummus and kashk bademjan. Honestly, I regret not snapping a picture before we inhaled it--it was that good! I'm not even an eggplant fan, but this dish is a must-try. For the mains, we got the lamb chops and the combo platter loaded with meats. Trust me, skip the extra rice, even for a large group. While the lamb chops were decent (but I've had better as a Texan), the lamb, chicken, and beef kebabs were on another level. Each bite kept getting better--the marination must be straight from the gods! The platter also had steak strips that melted in your mouth. The only disappointment was the dill rice, which lacked flavor, but the meats totally stole the show. Will I be back? Absolutely, and I'm planning to fast that day so I can eat even more! ”
“ My favorite restaurant for Persian food - FYI, they also have locations in Long Island. Pros: + Friendly staff + Amazing bread and sauces - I really love both the yogurt based and the green one that they bring out to the table + Decor is absolutely stunning + Lamb kebabs are delicious - This is the one that I always have to get + Upgrades for the rice - My favorite is the Cherry one. Most of the kebabs come with basmati rice. However, you can spend $3 to upgrade to one of their flavored ones. Don't miss this chance! + HUGE Portions - I share everything when I come IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC ”
“ Delicious food! Mediterranean salad with chicken kebab: very flavorful, large portions, delicious salads refreshing. Was juicy, but not as juicy as another place I had in Houston. Lamb stew with eggplant in tomato base: very good and flavorful! Eggplant was perfect. The meat was pretty tender too! The sour cherry rice was delicious too! Never had it before. Yum! ”
“ I've had take out from them a couple times and love how they are consistent with their delicious flavors! Their babaganoush is very tasty! I like how its definitely more on the creamier side and the texture is more "whipped" than others. The combination kabob set includes one barg (steak), one jujeh (chicken), and two koobideh. The koobideh has always been my favorite and they make it super well-seasoned and juicy. While the chicken was a little dry for me, the steak pieces were very tender. Not sure why they placed a tortilla-like bread at the bottom (likely to soak up the juices and sauce?) but it ended up just been too soggy. I wish they didn't so I have more to mix with my meats and rice. We upgraded to the green rice which I really enjoyed cause I really like dill. Meals came with side salads, tzatziki sauce, and sumac powder. Yes they are on the pricer side but their portions are also huge! Even with delivery, the dishes were intact without any spillage and still very warm. I appreciate how the flavors have been consistently solid over these two years after discovering them. ”
“ Ravagh is the place to go for Middle Eastern style Grilled Meatz! I've dined at the one in Mineola and had lunch takeout at the midtown east locations and always had very satisfying meals. We were able to secure a Friday night reservation inside for a group of 10 and they accommodated us in the farside split dining room. The decor is very modern with light earth tones. I'm just glad we didn't sit outside because it was still stiflingly hot outside, even into the evening. It was very relaxed because the staff was really laid back and we were not in any rush either. We started with an assortment of appetizers: hummus, babba ghanoush, baked kibbee, all spread on stretched flatbread and stuffed grape leaves. It wasn't until after we started on the appetizers that we ordered out entrees. We just ordered a bunch of grilled meat & seafood platters shared family style and they occupied almost every square inch of the long table. Each platter came with a choice of white or green basmati rice (also topped with saffron rice) with grilled onions and tomatoes, but we also substituted some grilled vegetables, which added eggplant, green peppers, zucchini and broccoli. For the meats, there was a mix of Koobideh Kabobs (ground beef), Dark Meat Chicken, Salmon Kabobs, Barg (sirloin steak chunks) and my favorite the Lamb Koobideh Kabobs. The lamb is just the way I like it with gamey taste that not everyone likes. We also had a Braised Lamb Shank stew that went quickly. The savory sauce from the stew was excellent with the rice. We ended up with a fair amount to take home, especially the mounds of rice and vegetables. The dessert menu has some unique and intriguing choices, so we ordered a variety. My favorite was the Persian Ice Cream that was a bright saffron yellow. Ravagh is great for groups if you reserve ahead of time, but also for date night (unless you happen to sit next to a large, loud party like us). ”
“ Ordered: Combination Kabob (~$72): one skewer of Barg, one skewer of Jujeh and two skewers of Koobideh Mediterranean Chopped Salad (~$11): chopped crisp lettuce, steak tomato, cucumber, red onion, and feta cheese (on the side) with vinaigrette Aya's take: We found ourselves back at Ravagh as my family likes the Persian grilled meats here. The Mediterranean Chopped Salad was a good way to start the meal; it was fresh, colorful, and balanced. The meats are on point, as usual. They're super buttery, juicy, and tender and I love when the juices get soaked up in the saffron rice. My only complaint (every time) is how painfully slow the service is, even at times when they don't seem busy at all. Other than that, it's a great spot for Persian cuisine. ”
“ One of my favorite restaurants in the city! I don't think I've ever had Persian food before, but I really loved trying Ravagh's. I found the service to be very fast and friendly, and the ambiance to be clean and upscale. You get fresh baked bread and dips when you sit down, and there is a green sauce that is absolutely lovely. I've been here with friends and family who have all enjoyed it, and a favorite order is the barg kebab. It is possibly one of the best ways to make steak that I've been lucky enough to try! The portion sizes are also huge, which helps me justify the $30 price tag for the dish. Lovely for both lunch and dinner. ”
